Funeral services for Sister Herbelene 'Beetsy' Mary Vining Cotten, 89 of Harrisonburg, LA will be held at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, with Bro. Tyler Stevison and Bro. Jeff Story officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church from 5 PM until 9 PM.

Sister Beetsy was born on Sunday, July 29, 1934, in Berwick, LA and passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Harrisonburg, LA and a member of Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church. A devoted woman whose life was a testament to her beautifully strong faith and unwavering commitment to prayer.

Sister Beetsy was not only a prayer warrior but also a beacon of kindness and hospitality. Her home was a haven for all who entered, where she delighted in keeping everyone wellfed with delicious meals and sharing the warmth of her heart. Among all of the different careers she worked through her life, Sister Beetsy's greatest occupation was her roles as a mother and grandmother, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Her passion for travel was fulfilled alongside her two best friends, Emma Montpelier, and Dean Torrey, creating cherished memories that will forever be cherished. Sister Beetsy leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and selflessness, a testament to a life well-lived-in service to others. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Sons Augustine, two infant sons, and her sister, Janet Sanchez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tana Whitehead (Rob) of Sicily Island, LA, Daphne Montpelier of Harrisonburg, LA, Judy Womack (Glen) of Harrisonburg, LA, son, Tommy Cotten Jr. (Sonja) of Winnsboro, LA; eleven grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren with three more on the way; and her special niece, Lisa Sanchez. The family would also like to give special thanks to the sitters who took special care of their mother during these hard times.

Those honoring Sister Beetsy as pallbearers will be Justin Montpelier, Landon Cotten, James Womack, Luke Cotten, Chase Womack, and Britt Case. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Dear and Logan Cotten.
