Services for William “Bill“ Nolan were held at 11 am on February 17, 2024 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jonesville, LA with Brother Colin Trisler presiding.

Graveside services were conducted by Harrisonburg Masonic Lodge # 110 at Central Baptist Church in Wisner, LA. Viewing was from 5pm - 9pm on 16 February 2024 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Jonesville, LA.

William “Bill” Edgar Nolan, 83 years old, of Jonesville, Louisiana died peacefully at home on February 14 2024.

He was born in Sunray, Texas, December 16, 1940, to Ed and Adelia Nolan. They later moved to Jonesville, Louisiana where he spent his childhood.

Bill attended Block High School, Jonesville, Louisiana. Bill traveled the world as he worked as a welder in construction and in the oilfield. Bill served as Boy Scouts of America Leader in Michigan City, Indiana, assisting his nephew, Arnold Roberts, to become an Eagle Scout.

He retired in 2002 and continued to live a full life at his home in Catahoula Parish. He was a deacon and active in his church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He recently celebrated his 60th year in the Masonic Order as a Master Mason and a Shriner.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Adelia Nolan; brothers Ralph Nolan, Sr. and David Nolan; sisters, Reba Allen and Laura Nolan; and granddaughter, Natalie Patten.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carrie Roberts Nolan, Jonesville, LA; sister, Rita Crooks (Johnny), Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Glinda Nolan, Jonesville, LA; daughters, Faith Laughlin (John), Roxie, Mississippi; Hope Patten (Timbo), Manifest, Louisiana; and Rita ”Lynn” Nolan (Frank Skeele), Arvada, Colorado; adopted son, Richard Moran; grandsons, Luke Hutchins, Aaron Hutchins, and Timothy Patten, and great grandsons, William “Will” Hutchins, AJ Hutchins, Tristan Hutchins, Harper Patten and granddaughter, Aaralee Hutchins. Pallbearers were Aaron Hutchins, Luke Hutchins, Timothy Patten, Ben Nolan, Scott Brazil, Alex Allen, Jimmy McCaa and Mike Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Wayne Nolan, Jr, Clarence “Rip” Roberts, Josh Roberts, and William “Will” Hutchins.
