Funeral services for George LaPrairie, Sr., 93 of Jonesville, LA were held at Larto First Baptist Church at 12 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, with Bro. Juan McClure and Bro. Kenny Smith of‑ficiating. Interment followed at Pease Cemetery in Larto, LA under the direction of Young's Fu‑neral Home. Visitation was held at Larto Baptist Church on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service.

George was born on Friday, September 12, 1930, in Larto, LA. and passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in Jonesville, LA. He was a hard‑working man of humble beginnings. From his ear‑ly days as a school bus driver, navigating routes with a horse and buggy, to his ventures in catch‑ing and selling crawfish, George exemplified resil‑ience and tenacity. Throughout his life, he tend‑ed to his cows and hogs, and found solace and purpose in farming. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies but cherished pastimes that brought him closer to nature.

A true working man, George's hands were calloused from years of toil in the fields. Yet, in his later years, he found joy in the simplicity of gardening, cultivating life from the earth. His leg‑acy is one of hard work, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the land. George will be remem‑bered fondly for his unwavering spirit and the mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marvyn LaPrairie, parents, Frank and Ida LaPrairie, grand‑daughter, Sheri LaPrairie, brothers, Mike LaPrai‑rie and Ronnie LaPrairie, and sister, Neva White.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his four sons, George LaPrairie (Becky) of Larto, LA, Darrell LaPrairie (Gayle) of Jones‑ville, LA, Wallace LaPrairie (Beverly) of Larto, LA and Tommy LaPrairie (Nina) of Larto, LA; four grandchild, Tim LaPrairie, Tess O'Rourke (Kevin), Jennifer Sharp (Justin), Mark LaPrairie (Amber); four sisters, Bernice McKnight, Jen‑nete Book, Helen Ashley, Barbra Stermer, two brothers, Nelson LaPrairie and Frank LaPrai‑rie; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Those honoring George as pallbearers were Kent Dewayne LaPrairie, Tim LaPrairie, Mark LaPrairie, Cal LaPrairie, Richard Tiser and Bill Wiley.

Honorary Pallbearers were Adam LaPrairie, Jerry Book, Richard Melton, Marion Dunlap, Jackie Adams, and Buddy Book.
