Services for Joseph M. Ellerbe were held at 2PM Saturday, May 18, 2024 at New Hope Apostolic Church, Sicily Island, LA with Bro. Chris Hamilton officiating. Visitation was from 11AM until time of services at the Church. Interment followed at New Pine Hill Cemetery, Sicily Island, LA, under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.

Joseph M. Ellerbe, 56 of Sicily Island, LA, passed on May 11th, 2024 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA. Joseph M. Ellerbe was a generous person who always wanted to help the people he cared for. He enjoyed the company of friends and listening to old country music. If you knew Joe, then you knew he was truly one of a kind. He loved all of his friends and family. Joe will truly be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe W. Ellerbe; mother, Geneva Ellerbe; brother, Kenneth Ray Kinnison; and sisters, Nita Nettles and Patricia Riley.

Joe is survived by his son, Jody Ellerbe and wife Savannah; granddaughter, Peyton Ellerbe of Sicily Island, LA; brothers, Robert Earl Kinnison and wife Billie Sue of Jigger, La, Bill Ellerbe and wife Patsy of Oak Grove, LA; aunts, Mamie Ratcliff and Daisy Mason of Sicily Island, LA, Lela Mae Dunn of Wisner, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers were Jody Ellerbe, Hunter Flint, Sidney Franks, Steven Riley, JT Riley, and Charles Walker.

Honorary Pallbearers included Shelby McKenzie and Wesley Warren.
