David Charles Carlton

Mr. David Charles Carlton, 75, of Jonesville, was born on January 21, 1949, in Charleston, South Carolina, and passed from this life on Friday, May 31, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Carlton and Anna Munkholm Carlton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra Bain Carlton; son, Robert Keith Thomley, Jr. (Sam); daughter, Lisa McIntyre; brother, Alan Calton (Gaudy); sister Terrie Carlton; grandchildren, Morgan Thomley (CJ), Victoria Jordan, Gabby McIntyre, Robert Keith Thomley III, and Marley Thomley; and great grandchild Rylie Collins.

David was a US Marine and served two tours in Vietnam. He later received his Masters Degree in Theology from Perkins College in Dallas, Texas. This led him to a fulfilling career as a United Methodist Pastor, where he touched the lives of many through his words of wisdom and spirit of kindness. David’s legacy extended beyond the walls of his church, as he coordinated mission teams in South Louisiana to aid in the recovery efforts following the devastating hurricanes, Katrina and Isaac. His selfless dedication to helping those in need left a lasting impact on the communities he served.
