Guy Eugene King, 70, of Aimwell, La. passed away on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, at 4:15 a.m. at his residence. Mr. King was born on July 25th, 1953, at Tensas Memorial Hospital in Newellton, La. to Jewel B. King and Doris King.

Mr. King was a 1971 graduate of Block High School in Jonesville, La. He began cross-country truck driving in 1971 after graduating high school. In 1973, Mr. King enlisted for three years in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. After being honorably discharged, he continued truck driving until becoming a law enforcement officer in 1991. He was employed by Newellton Police Department, Tensas Parish Sheriff's Office, Saint Joseph Police Department, Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Office, and Sicily Island Police Department. He served as Police Chief of Sicily Island Police Department before returning to truck driving. Mr. King had survived two separate battles with cancer. He was a hard worker, faithful to his jobs, and a dedicated husband and family man. Mr. King was a member of Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church of Jonesville, La.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris (McDaniel) Smith; stepfather, Jimmy Smith; father, Jewel B. King; brother, Gary Steven King; and infant son, Raymond King.

Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianne King; daughters, Jackie Barrett, Lynn Delhoste and husband, Davey, and Stacey Herman; sons, Howard King and wife, Sue, and Wesley King and wife, Shanda; stepmother, Rose King; sisters, Penny Russell and husband, Tommy, and Tammy Ferrington and husband, Charlie; brother, Billy Johnson and wife, Debra; grandchildren, Allyson Wooley and husband, Jay, Britlyn King, Blaine Herman, Joseph “Joe” King, John Hale, Jaime Lyon, Austin Nicholas King,Harlyn Dean, Angelica Tribedi, John Luttrull, Winston Bergeron; great granddaughter, Bryleigh Parker.

The funeral service were held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church with Pastor Tyler Stevison officiating. Burial followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La.

Pallbearers were Charlie Ferrington, Drew Ferrington, Gabe Ferrington, Tommy Russell, Davey Delhoste, and Jamie Crum.

Honorary Pallbearers were Blaine Herman, and Milford Herman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Karla Lee and the rest of the Lasalle Home Health staff for the exceptional care that they gave to Mr. King.
