Catahoula Parish Shooting Sports Club Members competed in the Regional Shotgun (Modified Trap) Competition. The shoot was held at the Long-Range Alley Gun Club in Grand Cane, LA on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Block Bears season comes to an end, Coach credits players for big plays

Although it was a heartbreaking loss, the Block High School Bears basketball team came home as winners in the eyes of Jonesville and BHS. Hard work throughout the season took the team to the second round of regional playoffs.

Block bears in round two of playoffs

Block High School boy’s basketball team defeated Haynesville last Friday night, earning their way to round two of the regional playoffs for Class A schools. Block faced off Ringgold on Tuesday night in an away game. Tuesday morning, Head Coach Leodis Norman stated, “Turnovers have been an issue this season but we have been practicing and the team played a great game against Haynesville and brought home the win. Ringgold is an experienced well disciplined team . We have a challenge on our hands, but if our team works hard like we did Friday night, we can win.”

It’s always a great day to be a Sicily Island High School Tiger, but Friday, February 9th was extra special. The season ended with Senior night for three senior girls with Alumni games. The current Lady Tigers played against a team of Alumni Lady Tigers and won with a score of 48-34.

HHS Lady Dawgs defeat Grace Christian

Kensey Trisler scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Harrisonburg Lady Dawgs past Grace Christian Warriors, 49-24, on Friday. Harrisonburg Lady Dawgs dominated from start to finish, never trailing in the game and leading by as many as 28 points on their way to a victory.
