Police Jury considers a ban on ZaZa,

When checking out at a local gas station the last thing a person might expect to find is an addictive drug for sale, but in most parishes, including Catahoula Parish, the drug is available. To protect the parish from the drugs harm, the Catahoula Parish Police Jury (CPPJ) voted to hold a public hearing on May 13th, at 6:00 to consider adopting a resolution to ban the sell of ZaZa, just one of the brand names for tianeptine.

Volunteer firefighters desperately needed in Harrisonburg

Recently, firefighters from several volunteer departments were battling a fire in the Manifest area when tankers began running low on water. A call was made to Harrisonburg Town Hall asking for their tanker truck to deliver more water, unfortunately, the Harrisonburg Fire Department (HFD) did not have a volunteer available to respond. This required another parish department to send a driver for the tanker, costing valuable time.
