Womack gets Senate Bill 44 passed, Protecting small local pharmacies

Senator Glen Womack was one of the fifty- six sponsors for Louisiana (LA) Senate Bill 444 passed and signed by Governor Landry on June 19, 2024. The law which becomes effective January 1, 2025, amends the existing Louisiana law to prohibit pharmacy benefit managers or their agents from reimbursing pharmacies or pharmacists in the state an amount less than the acquisition cost for a covered drug, device, or service.

Farmer withdrew previous not guilty plea and sentenced to four years hard labor

David Farmer was sentenced in Seventh Judicial District Court by Judge John Reeves last month. Farmer faced charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon; possession of meth and drug paraphernalia; illegal possession of weapons and CDS; and distribution/ possession with intent to distribute marijuana; sale, distribution, or possession of legend drug without a prescription.

The Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Team won their fourth national championship in the last five years. The 36-member team competed in Grand Island; Nebraska held June 2328. Claiming first place in air pistol and small-bore rifle, finished second hunting skills and compound archery, and was third place in small bore pistol and air rifle.
